This article aims to address ten key points to understand the Qualis (classification of journals) and thus answer questions that are often presented to area coordinators by scientific editors, teachers and students of graduate programs. The questions will be presented in order to clarify aspects applicable to all areas of evaluation whenever possible. Some particular aspects will build on the experience of Public Health area.
