Esta reflexão tem como objetivo problematizar algumas questões de educação dos alunos que se matriculam nos cursos noturnos das periferias urbanas: falta de motivação, evasão escolar, desinteresse e o alto índice de fracasso escolar. Está em andamento um trabalho de sensibilização de um grupo de professores de Sociologia de uma escola básica estadual, na periferia do Município de Vitória, no Estado do Espírito Santo. Quando todos estavam predispostos a assumir uma nova postura como educadores, diante do desafio que representa o aluno trabalhador da escola básica que cedo ingressa ou procura ingressar no mercado de trabalho e que precisa frequentar a escola noturna, resolveu-se partir para uma ação conjunta que resultou nesta proposta de estudo, que aqui está sendo apresentada e socializada.
