Abstract

This article reviews the experience of the Cincel Corporation in the process of democratizing access to scientific information in Chile during the last decade. It addresses institutional, financial and programmatic aspects, and it insists on the need to reduce asymmetries in the availability of information through the development and implementation of public policies that add public value and that are open to evaluation and redesign.
