This preliminary study was designed to analyze the assessment process of graduate programs from the manuscript entitled Ten things you should know about the Qualis, from Barata (2016). The ten points are revisited and expanded in some aspects and other perspectives are presented. In addition, different analyses are performed using data from papers published between 2013-2014. The data provide an attractive insight for those involved in graduate study assessment.
