From important reflections about the aspects of contemporary science, this study aims to explore the asymmetries that persist among the various types of knowledge within the academy. It intends to analyze the historically subordinated position of Humanities, discussing in favor of a distinction between them and the Sciences due to irreconcilable specificities aiming, ultimately, to fight the asymmetries. Among the distinguishing criteria, it intends to discuss the types of text production in its implications for the assessment of intellectual production. The “method” will also be discussed as a hegemonic procedure of the scientific research that, in the Studies of Humanities, reveals itself, in broad terms, as inapplicable, and can and must, as proposed in this study, give way to the idea of “poetics of investigation”.Downloads
