In this article, we discuss the evolution of the pedagogical project and curriculum of a Master Course in Ecology and Biomonitoring of the Federal University of Bahia. We describe the original conception, implemented in 2001, and our evaluation of its main drawbacks after the fi rst three-year period. We present also the adjustments we made and the results obtained in the end of the subsequent three-year period. We fi nally address the changes that are planned to the next period and our curriculum proposal for doctoral studies in our program, which is now under evaluation of the governmental regulatory agency, Capes. We consider that the changes implemented in our curriculum resulted in a high level of integration among students and in the development of their critical skills, leading to improvement of their master projects, their published articles, and also of their profi le as researches and teachers.Downloads
