Abstract

This article discusses research developed on the Indigenous School Baniwa and Coripaco on the Rio Negro, reflecting on the need for an intercultural perspective of indigenous education. This perspective is essential for the recovery of a trilogy of factors that combine the myths of indigenous knowledge, access to Western technologies and the sustainable development of the people from the Içana River to improve their living conditions and promote the professional performance of the young people in the region. Finally, we intend to show how the Pamáali School is developing science education on the elementary school level and how the three above-mentioned aspects are articulated through teaching with research.
