The aim of this paper is to report the progress of the Capes Portal, the creation of the Open University of Brazil (UAB) and the provision of distance-education courses in Public Administration in institutions of higher education in Brazil. We discuss the use and the availability of informational material in the Capes Portal, the Public Administration courses offered as distance education, and the supply in the Capes Portal of journals in full text about public administration. We conclude that studying the habits of information use by Portal users and UAB students allows for the integration of these projects and the improvement in their performance.Downloads
