The implementation of the Graduate Program in Tropical Biodiversity (PPGBIO) was a landmark that united four different institutions with the same goals (Universidade Federal do Amapá / UNIFAP, Instituto de Pesquisas Científicas e Tecnológicas do Estado do Amapá/IEPA, Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária/EMBRAPAAP and Conservation International/CI Brazil). This article describes the profile of the program’s candidates and the most impressive results of this kind of institutional partnership of graduate study, approved by Capes. The program’s immediate success is reflected in the fact that more than 90% of the graduating master’s students have remained in the State of Amapá, working or becoming active in various areas of the environmental and biodiversity conservation sector.Downloads
