Abstract

This paper aims to promote a dialogue about the role of professional master’s degrees in Education and its intersection with the qualification of teachers of basic education. To that end, we developed a brief description of the implementation process and of the pedagogical approach of the Graduate Program, Professional Master’s in Education, in the context of public policies for teacher training in Brazil. This was followed by an analysis of the first research reports produced for the purpose of student qualification. The research showed the possibilities provided by the training and research activities developed within the program and articulated with issues relevant to basic education and to teacher qualification.
