This article is part of ongoing research in the Graduate Programme in Information Science at the University of Brasilia. By considering of the academic history and institutional recognition of archive practice in Brazil, it seeks to understand the insertion of Archival Science in this country’s graduate system. The study maps research programmes and projects that are related to this area and also considers the dissertations and theses produced in these programmes that, in some manner, deal the archival theme
