Abstract

Rethinking teaching and education in Brazil as a whole is imperative since the paradigm of traditionally based teaching is not enough. In law education this is not different, often being formalistic and with a compartmentalized way of learning, based on too much tecnical and could information accumulation. University Extension programs lives a moment of growing recognition as a true pillar of intellectual formation within the academy. In this context, the present article intends to approach and criticize concepts and formative aspects of the extension activity for a law course, showing the successful experience of the first academic league of Constitutional Law in the extreme north of Minas Gerais, founded in a private institution that is closest to a large population but also surrounded by access challenges such as transportation and highways, and students limitations regarding time to study and finance. This text defends the possibility of another look at the teaching learning based on the student as the main author of the process.
