The University Extension represents a university pillar of connection and relationship with society, providing mutual learning, scientific research, and communication with society to return results and develop relationships that look to understand and collaborate with the most diverse challenges. The present study had as its central objective the investigation of Extension reports in a public university in the north of Minas Gerais, Brazil, to account for and disseminate indicators that can elucidate this performance and university participation in its social environment. The methodology was quantitative, gathering information from four years (2014-2017) of actions on teacher and student participation, number of Extension actions, number of services, thematic areas of actions, and academic production. The results obtained showed that the University operates in several municipalities and with actions that generated approximately 600 thousand attendances annually, standing out in actions that support elementary schools. Among the thematic areas, there was greater participation in the areas of health (≈40%), education (≈20%), and culture (≈15%). The global observation of the results described in the text is a university that seeks to relate to society, often of with assistance services, but with a high number of events, courses, and academic production. It also suggests that there is room to expand the teaching and student performance, as less than 50% were involved in Extension. The Extension is a source for recognizing the role of the university for society when active and capable of positively modifying its actors.
