Objective: To understand the challenges and impacts resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic on Brazilian postgraduate studies and the execution of research projects. Method: Descriptive-exploratory study with a qualitative approach. 40 (forty) stricto-sensu postgraduate students participated in this research, with representatives from the five Brazilian regions. The information was produced from February to April 2023, through 6 online focus groups. Data analysis was carried out based on the content analysis technique, in the thematic modality, proposed by Bardin. Results: Among the participants, 17 (42.5%), 27 (67.5%) were female and 17 (42%) were master's students. When seeking to analyze the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the execution of Brazilian postgraduate research, 3 thematic categories emerged, namely: Challenges and impacts related to housing and family, Challenges and impacts related to removal from university spaces and modifying projects and Challenges and impacts related to the guidance process. Final considerations: The results of this study demonstrate how the challenges imposed by the pandemic ended up directly interfering with the dedication and mobilization towards postgraduate studies, as well as the difficulty in concentrating due to concerns about the life and health of oneself and one's family. , in addition to the nuances related to changing projects and relationships with the advisor, reflecting the extension of deadlines, exchange of guidance and even continuity of academic life.
