This article aims to describe and analyze the teaching internship experience of quilombola women from the interior of Ceará, with an emphasis on knowledge from Afro-descendant and traditional sources. This is a descriptive and qualitative study, of the experience report type, combining reflections on the teaching practice of the Teaching Internship Discipline, Professional Doctorate in Family Health of the Postgraduate Program in Family Health, Northeast Network for Training in Family Health, Nucleadora Universidade Estadual do Ceará. To this end, a teaching-learning plan was developed, a complementary activity to the discipline, addressing the Afro-descendant and traditional knowledge that permeates health care for quilombola women, as proposed by the doctoral student's thesis. To this end, three workshops were held in the first semester of 2023, using active methodologies that are fundamental for new thinking, acting, and performing in health. Thus, the experience of the teaching internship with quilombola women allowed me to immerse myself in Afro-descendant and traditional care practices and to better understand these practices that go beyond theoretical foundations, enriching my personal and professional training with a broader and culturally sensitive perspective. It is concluded that the teaching internship as a pedagogical practice provided enriching critical-reflective moments in the various environments conducive to reflection, action and reflection on pertinent theoretical-methodological aspects, promoting in-depth studies that expanded the meanings, knowledge and learning in pedagogical practice, being a significant and transformative experience, through collaborative and shared learning.
