This paper presents some partial results from the “Projeto em Rede de Estudos, Pesquisas e Formação de Professores Pesquisadores em Lingüística e Educação Escolar Indígena” (Network Project for the Formation of Teacher-Researchers in Linguistics and the Education of Indigenous Peoples). The central concern of this project is the linguistic instruction provided in undergraduate programs for indigenous teachers. Among the topics discussed are: problems of writing elaboration in indigenous languages, the need to select serialized contents for the formal teaching of such languages, and the utility of linguistic data banks for language teaching in the schools of indigenous villages.Downloads
