Our aim in this paper is to present how research studies conducted by the Indigenous Education Observatory, combined with investigations conducted within the context of internship and extracurricular projects associated with the undergraduate program for Teacher Intercultural Indigenous Education at Federal University of Goiás, contribute to knowledge about the sociolinguistic reality of the indigenous region Araguaia-Tocantins and to the adoption of language policies pertaining to bilingual teaching practices in the school and to the strengthening of native languages originating in the context of local communities.Downloads
