This article discusses how the research objectives are formulated in Master’s Degree dissertations in the field of Education. The study analyzed 111 objectives of 45 dissertations that dealt with topics related to school education. The investigation was documentary in nature and involved a meta-analitical approach based on content analysis.. The research objectives were classified as: Comprehensive, Evaluative, Purposive, Descriptive, Intervening, and Generic. The data analysis indicated: the prevalence of comprehensive, evaluative and purposive objectives; that more than 30% of the analysed objectives are not research objectives; the fragility of manuals on research methods in dealing with the issue.Downloads
