Although the expansion of access to technological resources and the Internet are important in the context of digital information and communication technologies, issues such as the development and improvement of digital literacy skills for navigation in virtual environments must be considered. Taking this into consideration, this research aimed to investigate the development of these skills in teacher training contexts. As instruments for data production, field notes, logbooks, observations, and teacher questionnaires were used. These data set enabled the creation and implementation of a course on the subject. The main results of the research pointed out that training for the pedagogical use of digital technologies is not a reality in educational policies. They also revealed that teachers are interested in the theme, which makes possible the development of courses that present approaches to digital literacy, both in initial and continuing education.
