The present manuscript intends to present some actions taken in the design of education in the field of health which have made important theoretical and practical contributions to teacher training and to higher education in health. The study was undertaken in the context of the graduate program in Clinical Research in Infectious Diseases, and it highlights the theoretical basis of the principles of Paulo Freire’s emancipatory education. Thus, we present some experiences that have strengthened this program, not only for the qualification and development of professionals for the National Health System, but also for a better understanding of the production of knowledge in healthcare. Our intention is to promote these initiatives, inspired by Freire’s assumptions and by international cooperation, with a focus on the graduate level.Downloads
