Vol. 21 No. especial (2026): Edição PROEB

We present the new issue of the Revista Brasileira de Pós-Graduação (RBPG), a special edition dedicated to the Programa de Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu para Qualificação de Professores da Rede Pública de Educação Básica (PROEB). It brings together ten articles written by the coordinators and other key figures involved in the programs offered through a nationwide network to teachers currently working in the public basic education system.

PROEB operates through a national network of higher education institutions (HEIs), with programs recognized by the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) for excellence in teacher education. These institutions offer stricto sensu master’s and doctoral programs to another 300 HEIs across the country’s five regions.

With this new Special Issue, RBPG continues to serve as an important forum for discussion and reflection on public policies for graduate education and teacher education. These are two complementary dimensions of CAPES’s work since 2007, when the agency began to support programs aimed at licensure education and Basic Education teachers. This reflects a systemic understanding of education, as envisioned by CAPES founder Anísio Teixeira, honored on the cover of this issue.

We wish you a good reading experience!
